Hi Inters families,
I can’t believe how fast time is flying! It’s crazy to me that we’re already nearing the start of Week 6, but even crazier that in 2 week’s time, your daughters will be back with you for 10 months instead of here at camp with us for 2. But until then, when you get to see their day-to-day lives for yourself in real time, I’ll catch you up on what they’ve been up to.
This week, the Inters girls have been rehearsing for their play, Peter Pan. It was so sweet to see them all cheer each other on as they were awarded their roles at the beginning of the rehearsal process. It looked like Olympics captain crowning (for those of you who have seen previous videos from the event in the Gymnastics Pavilion on the Instagram) when roles such as Tinkerbell and Peter were announced! It was truly amazing to see how supportive they were of one another’s accomplishments. The play opens on Saturday night, and I’m so excited to see it!
On Monday night, we celebrated Birthday Night, an event with a secret theme that’s dedicated to providing each Romaca girl with a summer birthday (even though most of us don’t have one!). This year’s theme was Strawberry Shortcake - isn’t that the cutest? The Senior A division has worked extremely hard to put this night together for us all summer, and the girls were so appreciative of their efforts. Wednesday night was filled with special events, yet again, but this time with Cliff Brodeur!
Looking ahead into this week, we have Olympics on the horizon - where the camp is split up into 4 teams for a 3 day color war-style competition - and Romaca Relay - where the camp is split up into 2 teams (green and white) for a relay race, which starts with the youngest division at the Lagoon Field and ends with a rope burning competition between the 2 Romrec teams at the Waterfront. Let the games begin!!
XOXO,
Schmaier
