These popular areas in camp will provide you with many opportunities for self-expression.
Thespians wanted! Under the guidance of our professional musical director and staff, you’ll sing, dance and perform for an enthusiastic and supportive audience.
Our large theatre building — affectionately called the Rec-Hall — hosts our entire camp for these shows, dances, rainy day activities and indoor campfires (yes, indoor campfires). Even when it rains, fun never stops at Romaca!
Whether you are standing front and center, or back stage helping with set design, you’ll surely find a home in our Performing Arts Workshop program, affectionately called PAWS for short. Every camper has many opportunities throughout the summer to participate in both major theatrical productions, skits and talent shows on our vintage stage. Our four oldest groups perform their shows in concert with the boys from Greylock, our brother camp.
Our talented instructors will lead you in jazz, tap, modern, and hip-hop routines. From beginners to aspiring Broadway dancers - we’ve got you covered. At summer’s end, the entire camp is invited to our Dance Show in the Rec Hall. Perfectly situated, the open and airy Dance Center looks out over Plunkett Lake.
Are you ready to have fun? Creative arts is the place to be! Our artfully skilled staff can offer you hands-on personal instruction in project art, painting, drawing, ceramics, applied materials, screen printing, tye-dying and sewing. On parent visiting day we will proudly display your outstanding artwork in R.O.M.A. - our version of the Museum of Modern Art. You’re gonna be so proud of yourself! It’s okay, you’re allowed to smile now. 😃
