A personal visit to Romaca is the best way to learn everything about us.

We offer two options to help better acquaint you and your family with our staff, campers, traditional program and beautiful facilities. Our preference is for your daughter to participate in one of our very special Rookie Days. All Rookie parents will also enjoy a comprehensive Group Tour at the start of the day. If joining us for Rookie Day is not possible, we also offer the same Group Tour on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Rookie Day

On this extraordinary day, we immerse girls in the Romacan summer experience. During her visit, your daughter will explore much of what Romaca has to offer and get to know our friendly campers and staff.

Preparing for Rookie Day

This is an action-packed day. Our goal is to share as much of Romaca as we can with your family. As you prepare to join us, please keep in mind the following:

  • Your daughter needs to arrive promptly at 10:15am. Please allow ample travel time.
  • Rookie Day is offered to you at no expense or obligation.
  • All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 according to the latest Massachusetts recommendations. Families will be asked to provide vaccination information and health status prior to arrival at Romaca.
  • Rookies should wear sneakers and bring a towel, bathing suit, tennis racket, water bottle and sunscreen.
  • Dress for Rookie Day is casual and weather appropriate.
  • Parents will remain at Romaca for a comprehensive Group Tour of camp beginning at 10:30am. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Due to the rather busy nature of the day, we suggest leaving very young children at home or arranging for childcare during your visit. It is our goal for you as parents to fully participate in your visit.😉
  • Rookies will join us for an authentic all-camp lunch in our dining hall. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day. Please alert us to any food allergies or sensitivities.
  • Romaca promotes a nut-free environment. Please do not bring or send any items that contain nuts and/or peanuts into our campus; this includes possible trace amounts from manufacture or handling. If you are unsure, please err on the side of caution and refrain from bringing questionable items.
  • Following the tour, parents should plan to spend a few hours in the Berkshire area, returning to Romaca at 4:15pm. Rookies will remain in supervised activities until 4:30pm.
  • Once we have processed your Rookie Day registration, we will send you an email confirmation. We look forward to meeting you and are very excited for your family to experience an outstanding day at Romaca!

If you have a son participating in Camp Greylock’s Rookie Day, you should plan to drop your son off at Greylock promptly at 9:45am and return to Romaca for the start of our Group Tour at 10:15am. Following the tour, you will return to Greylock to pick up your son and return to Romaca by 4:15pm. Due to the unique nature of the Rookie Day programs at Romaca and Greylock, it is generally not possible for parents to participate in a tour of both camps in the same Rookie Day. If you have any questions, please contact us for further guidance.
