Hi Romrec families!
We have made it past the halfway mark, which is very bittersweet. It was so nice to catch up with you all on Sunday. I hope you all had a wonderful day. This has definitely been a quieter week for Romrec, and they got their much deserved rest time. Monday and Tuesday were quiet days with regular schedules. On Monday, the girls also auditioned for their production of Percy Jackson, which will take place in Greylock on Sunday.
On Wednesday, it was Romrec day on camp, with the rest of camp embarking on Trip Day. Our girls got to have a sleep in which was a great start. After breakfast, they headed to the OOBs Bunk to begin the prank. Thank you for the wrapping paper!!! We then made our way to Waterfront and ordered Koto for lunch. The girls went water skiing, ate lunch on the docks, set up a slip and slide, had a water balloon fight and even managed to push Daniel into the lake!! A great end to the day was when the girls served dinner for everyone in the dining hall, followed by a trip to their beloved Topsys for dessert.
Thursday was a busier day for the girls. We had an 8:45 wake up, followed by swimming Shack and Back. The sun was shining and as a division, we swam and sang there and back, always in high spirits. Once arriving at the Shack, we signed some rocks and posed for some essential pictures. That is probably one of my favorite memories from this summer so far and I wish I could do it again. The girls had a long afternoon as we departed for Greylock at 1:15pm for play rehearsals. The girls worked hard at learning their songs, and we were fortunate to get the opportunity to stay at Greylock for dinner. The girls then had a social after dinner so they were tired when they returned to camp!
On Friday, some of the girls left for the Sailing Regatta, while others helped to teach activities to Juniors and Inters around camp. This weekend is a busy one for the girls. Alumni Weekend starts tomorrow, and the girls are very excited to see many of their old counselors. They also have more rehearsals at Greylock and are very excited to perform on Sunday.
I can’t wait to see what next week has to offer.
Until then,
Caoimhe.
