Dear Inters Families,
I am so delighted to be spending the summer looking after your girls! This week we have all spent a lot of time getting to know one another and they are really an amazing group. Once the Inters were all settled in on Friday night after a VERY exciting (and exhausting!) Arrival Day, we had an all camp campfire and Wish Night where all campers and counselors were handed a candle so that they could make their own special and unique wish for the summer ahead.
On Sunday morning, we had Picture Day on camp, and your girls looked absolutely flawless for both their individual and their bunk shots in their Romaca gear. Later on that afternoon, the girls ditched the green and white for black and camouflage so we could play our annual game of Predator, where all the girls were split up into teams based on animals of the food chain. They had a blast “attacking” animals who were lower on the chain than them, as well as running away from potential predators! It was so special to see them making friends both older and younger than them in their assigned teams. Then on Sunday evening, they had yet another costume change so that they could perform their Get to Know your Camper skits. It was truly the cutest thing to see your girls so comfortable up onstage in front of 200+ people after just two days at camp. Romaca is magic!!!
In between all the special events, we’ve had a bunch of Inters-only divisional activities as well. This week, the girls played the String Game, where they all shared a summer goal as well as something they’re most excited to do this summer with one another. At the end of the game, they were each given a string friendship bracelet to connect all of them this summer, as well as serve as a reminder of their goals and excitements throughout the next 7 weeks. Additionally, this week we had a Spa Night with Romrec during Evening Activity, where all of the girls were paired up with a Romrecer to do their hair and makeup for the night. It was absolutely adorable seeing the littles with their assigned bigs, and even more special because this division of Romrec girls actually did the same Evening Activity when THEY were Inters with that year’s Romrec. Life is truly a circle here at Romaca!
The Inter girls are all having an amazing time and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for them, both as a division and as individuals. Thank you all for allowing us to share this time with them!
Hope you’re having a great summer!
