Hello Debs Families!
It is crazy to believe that it has already been a week since your wonderful and amazing girls have come to Romaca! It has been such a joy beginning to get to know your daughters and learning everything about them. The girls have been bonding as a division and have really enjoyed coming together as Debs so far this summer! On Arrival Day last Friday, the girls had a fantastic time unpacking in their bunks, laughing with their friends and cheering as buses arrived throughout the day.
After they settled a bit into their bunks, the girls began getting ready for our first campfire. The sea of bright yellow as they walked to campfire arm in arm was so amazing to see and makes me so excited for what’s to come for them this summer. The girls spent the evening laughing, singing and learning all of the traditional Romacan songs that we have here at camp. They were so passionate about their new divisional song and were the loudest at the campfire when it was their turn to sing it!
On our first day of activities at camp, the girls swam in the lake, played tennis, and at the end of the night they watched “Get to Know Your Counselor”. The girls had such a wonderful time watching their counselors act silly and put on a great performance for the camp! The next evening the Debs got the chance to put on their own skit or song by bunk for “Get to Know Your Camper”. There were laughs, costumes and amazing songwriting from the Debs division. I was so proud to see them shine on the Rec Hall stage as they all bonded as bunks to put on a fun and exciting show!
The Debs also had picture day this weekend where they dressed in their Romacan best and looked absolutely adorable posing with their bunks together as well as in their individual photos. The girls then enjoyed a yummy brunch afterwards with some treats as they chatted about their exciting day ahead. After brunch, the girls dressed in their best green and dark colors to participate in the favorite Romacan tradition of Predator! It is a massive game of tag across our camp and the girls had a blast running around with their assigned Romrec camper while they traveled all around camp for the afternoon!
The girls have also been so excited about planning Deb Carnival and we have even started developing theme ideas! Your girls are so creative and whatever theme they choose I can assure you all it will be amazing! We are so excited as a division to bring such a wonderful sense of togetherness and joy to this special event at camp.
I am very much looking forward to the summer ahead as well as the silliness, kindness and all around togetherness that this division is showing already! Be sure to check back next week to see even more of what your wonderful girls have been up to!
Have a great weekend!
