Clubhouse 7 Week 3

Hello Clubhouse Families!

Week 3 is coming in hot! Hot in temperature and activities!

The heat in the Berkshires has kept the girls active with plenty of lake time. The girls have been enjoying their water skiing, small crafts and swim lessons. Clubhouse girls love a good competition. The waterfront staff has them doing nontraditional relays during divisional swim periods. Lots of cheering, and even more screaming to get to the finish line. Laila, Ellie S. and Remy are our notable fastest swimmers!

But the competition goes beyond Romaca camp limits! This week the girls participated in tournaments for softball, swim, basketball, tennis and dance. Mila, Lily M, and Lily Kate competed in a Hip Hop competition at Camp Lenox and won first! Romaca, as a camp, won the overall dance award bringing home a total of 4 trophies. The biggest highlight was the Clubhouse cheer competition! The entire group of 20 girls decided to participate and as usual their enthusiasm for performing was 100%. While we waited for the scoring, Alivia and Scarlett beat out all the other camps in a very intense head stand race. Our stunt team with Layla, Alivia, Nicole, Charlotte and Sophia won second place! We all cheered with glee!

On the subject of glee, Clubhouse is well on their way rehearsing their summer play, High School Musical 3, which will be a must see hit for visiting day! From socials at the waterfront to play practice, the girls are loving their time with Greylock’s Sophomore boys division.

Bringing the week to end with everyone’s favorite night, DJ Jeff. It has become tradition at Romaca for the Clubhouse girls to dress up in absolutely ridiculous “Nerd” outfits, and Clubhouse certainly did not disappoint. Within minutes, the girls who spend hours deciding which outfit they want to wear to a social event were rocking mismatched hairstyles, suspenders, bright red lipstick, and drawn-on unibrows. For once, without the stress of worrying about their appearance, they were able to be silly and dance the night away. The whole night they were shining like the sun, smiling, and having the best time!

As a camper, I always remember week 3 being the gel of the summer. This could not be more true for our girls: activities are in full swing, the friendship and bonds are strong, conversations are deep and the memories of endless fun that camp brings are happening every minute. Looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday!
