Annex Week 3

If weeks at camp had titles, this one would be called “The Greatest Week!” (Cue dramatic Hugh Jackman entrance.)

We kicked things off on Saturday with a show-stopping performance of “The Greatest Showman”. Lights, costumes, harmonies, and heart. Our campers brought the house down with their talent and flair. When the final number hit and “From Now On” echoed through the air, there wasn’t a silent voice in the crowd. Broadway, beware.

On Sunday, we packed up our beach towels and good vibes and headed to Greylock for a splash of fun, figuratively, of course. The Senior A’s performed their version of “Teen Beach Movie” and we were fully riding the wave of the 1960s surf-rock spectacular. Let’s just say: Surfs up, spirits up, and dancing shoes on.

Rain tried to cramp our style on Monday, but we don’t let a little weather rain us out of our campfire. We gathered in the Rec Hall for our cozy Annex Campfire, complete with faux flames, real laughs, and all the classics. From the first verse to the final echo, we sang loud, proud, and slightly off-key (but with great energy).

Wednesday was a double feature! First, our girls took the stage at an intercamp dance competition and smashed it. We’re talking THREE 1st place trophies! Huge shoutout to our dancing queens Bari, Callie, and Allegra, who brought the rhythm, the moves, and the sparkle. Later that day, we headed to our third brother/sister dinner at Greylock, where we swapped stories and plenty of hugs.

Thursday was bass-booming, beat-dropping and full of that DJ Jeff magic. A camp favorite, DJ Jeff returned to bring up the energy, and we danced like no one was watching (except, of course, for every single counselor). Lights flashed, feet flew, and DJ Jeff officially retained his crown as Camp’s Favorite Guest Star.

And finally, Friday. The Romaca Tennis Invitational was in full swing (pun intended), with our girls serving looks and aces. The sportsmanship, the focus and the dedication these girls have been showing has made me so proud to spend my time with them.

Week 3 had it all: music, rain, dance parties, trophies, and some truly excellent tennis. Stay tuned for next week! I have a feeling the fun’s just getting started.

With Love,

The Annex Show Mom
