Week 2 at camp is officially in the books, and it was nothing short of a rollercoaster. Between lip sync battles, swim meet victories, and the usual chaos of camp life, there was never a dull moment. So, buckle up as we take you through the wild week!
It was an epic battle of musical talent on Saturday night. The lip sync competition was a hit as every division brought their A-game. Congratulations to Romrec for taking 1st place!
Sunday night’s campfire was a nice trip down memory lane. We had a cozy fire with Romrec introducing their song to our songbook! We also found out our roles in the camp play! That’s right, our version of “The Greatest Showman” is officially underway, and trust us, you won’t want to miss the show. During practice as I sat and wrote, Honor called me out, wondering if I writing this blog post “for the parents” (thanks for the side-eye, Honor).
Taco Tuesday is the highlight of every camp week and brought smiles to our faces. Wednesday was a day of two things: fast swims and play practice. The swim meet was intense, with Sophie and Marley claiming first place in their individual races. We are so proud of you girls!!! If you didn’t know it before, now you do: these girls are on an athletic kick this summer. Our second brother/sister dinner was hosted at Romaca. We also had our social that night, which was nice for the girls to see some of their friends again.
Friday was the ultimate test of teamwork. We traveled to Taconic for a volleyball tournament, where every serve, dig, and spike was a lesson in pure camp spirit. Our team played hard, but even harder when it came to working on our roles in “The Greatest Showman” play. Play practice with Greylock was a whirlwind as we got into character.
We had such a fun week full of different activities and lots of practice. We cannot wait to show off all of the work we have been in behind the scenes. Stay tuned for all of the amazing things Annex has in store this week!
With love,
The Annex Volleyball Mom,
Ashley
