Annex Week 1

Camp is Back and Better Than Ever!

What a week! The first week of camp has been a non-stop rollercoaster of laughs, cheers, dancing, fireworks, and just the right amount of paint (more on that later). It’s safe to say we’ve hit the ground running into summer 2025. There’s no better way to begin the season than with our very first campfire of the summer, paired with the beloved tradition of Wish Night. It was the perfect mix of camp magic and meaningful moments, a truly fantastic opening to the summer.

We kicked off our social calendar with a visit to Greylock, where our girls got to reconnect with old friends and swap stories from the school year. There were smiles, a few shrieks of reunion, and definitely some plans for the next get together.

The next day, we were welcomed at Greylock for our first brother/sister activity of the summer. The girls were able to spend dinner time with their brothers, a nice way to ease into being back at camp.

Thursday was double the fun. While the rest of camp hosted our Winadu brothers for more classic brother/sister activities, the Annex girls were busy bringing it on at a cheer competition at Camp Lenox! Even though we came in 3rd place, the girls gave it their all and absolutely rocked the performance. More importantly, it was a powerful bonding moment for the division, complete with pep talks, team huddles, and lots of laughs.

And of course, Independence Day was everything we dreamed of and more. Dressed in red, white, and blue from head to toe (yes, even the socks), we kicked off the celebration with a camp favorite: Paint Your Counselor! Let’s just say the counselors are still washing out the red and blue (with hints of purple) streaks as we speak. We followed it up with a classic cookout and capped off the night with a beautiful fireworks show that lit up the sky and our faces with pure joy.

Week one was everything we hoped for and more. If this is how we started, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store for us. Let the adventures continue!

With Love,

The Annex Cheer Mom
