Senior A's Week 4

Hello, Senior A Parents!

We had an incredibly busy week here in our division!

We had a very chill Saturday and spent the day completing our normal schedule of activities, prepping during every free moment to see you all! And, of course, on Sunday we saw all of you amazing parents! The kids were so happy to see all of you and the treats you brought along! The sugar highs were running rampant in camp!

On Monday, we had our eight mile hike at Mount Greylock! It was a long and hot day, but the girls kept their spirits high, smiles big, and sunscreen lathered! They were incredible hikers and were so relieved to get to the summit to see the beautiful sights of…clouds. Unfortunately, our view of the land below was obstructed, but it was still a breathtaking sight to see and the girls reveled in their victory of climbing to the top! We had a nice lunch of sandwiches and homemade snacks before heading back down the mountain, onwards to Friendly’s to complete the camp tradition of Fribbles after a hike well done. The day was far from over, though! Once we returned, we showered and ate and then promenaded and yeehaw’ed to Cliff Brodeur! Suffice to say, we were exceedingly exhausted and ready for bed.

Tuesday was more mellow, as we recovered from our busy day and prepared for our first overnight trip! We spent our evening activity packing and cleaning (everyone’s favorite pastime) while thinking about all the fun that was to come in the next two days.

After we got to our first stop, Lake George, we spent a few hours shopping and eating lunch before hopping on the Minnie HaHa, an actual steamboat, for a ride around Lake George. The girls had a blast, sitting in the sun, talking with each other, eating some yummy snacks, and seeing what the lake had to offer. Afterwards, we shopped a bit more and then headed to the hotel to get ready for dinner. Let me tell you, it was a fun time! We enjoyed a fun night at a place aptly named The Fun Spot and ate some nachos, pizza, chicken tenders, and hot dogs – all very healthy foods – and spent the night roller skating, go karting, mini golfing, and playing some laser tag! It was a nice way to end the day.

On Thursday, we headed over to Saratoga Springs and… shopped even more! They never get tired of it! After an afternoon of shopping, we headed over to Saratoga Springs State Park and swam for a few hours before finally heading home. However, before making it back to camp we had an absolutely DELICIOUS hibachi dinner at Koto! Everyone enjoyed the live demonstration of cooking, fire, and tricks! Not to brag, but at the hibachi table I sat at, nine people caught the flying zucchini in a row! An impressive feat, for sure!

Friday was a nice and easy day for us as we got back into the flow of camp and participated in the activities of the day. As a nice welcome back, we had a social at Greylock for evening activity! I would say that this has been the best week thus far, and I’m so excited to see how the next few go!

Love, Jess
