Hello!
We have had an amazing first week of camp here at Romaca!
I hope you are all enjoying the beginning of summer, because we sure are! On Friday, we kicked off the camp season with Wish Night and Campfire. The girls got all dressed up in their blue and sang their hearts out, finishing up with making a wish for the summer. On Saturday, we had some rainy day activities followed by Get to Know Your Counselor. All the departments really showed up and put on an amazing show for the campers. On Sunday, we had a lovely brunch and Picture Day. They looked lovely in their Romaca shirts for their bunk pictures. Later on, we played a great game of Predator – a camp favorite! The Senior A’s did a great job and really went all out – black outfits, bandanas, and black out to look intimidating. To end the day, we had the campers put on Get to Know Your Campers and the Senior A’s did not disappoint! They wrote some amazingly original songs.
For our first week, we kicked off Monday with some super fun activities as a division. The girls all did phenomenal on their swim tests and were actually excited to get in the lake! We ended Monday with Twin Night as our evening activity. They looked great! Their creativity was at an all-time high with their choices to twin with their camp sisters. On Tuesday, the girls had a blast participating in their activities – all Senior Choice for the first time! How exciting! For evening activity, they played Statues on Lagoon Field, really soaking up all the outdoor time they could get. That has to be my favorite part of camp – seeing all the campers so eager to get outside and stay outside!
Wednesday was another great day at camp – pure sunshine almost all day! The girls enjoyed their second day of a completely personalized schedule. For evening activity, the Senior A’s got together with Clubhouse 7 to create commercials for random items pulled from their bunks. They all may have a future in marketing, just saying!! On Thursday they agreed on a theme for Birthday Night, our big event this summer! The theme is… just kidding!! We all know it is TOP SECRET and I can not risk this information getting out. However, I’m sure they will write home about it (just make sure it is for your eyes only!!).
Friday was sun-filled and energy was high. We are got together with the Juniors and had a little spa night! We had face masks, nail polish, and music playing.
