Sub Seniors, Week 4

Dear Sub-Senior Families,

We had a beautiful week here in the Berkshires! The weather treated us well and we were ecstatic to receive some much needed sunshine! The girls loved it as well, getting some sun and time out in the lake.

We began the weekend with our regularly scheduled activities and had our “Trash Bag to Fashion Show Catwalk” on Sunday! The girls looked awesome in their homemade creations and I was really impressed with their abilities to take something as simple as a trash bag and transform it into an amazing dress, outfit, and even pantsuit!

We had our annual (Virtual) Visiting Day on Tuesday, which was the perfect day weather-wise for us! We had the Romrec girls face off against the Advisory Staff in a game of softball (and though I’d love to boast that I did great, I designated myself as team cheerleader). The Advisory Staff had quite a few fans in the crowd, so it was great to hear your girls cheering for us! Following the game, we had the usual visiting day spread at lunch, complete with sushi and lots of desserts. The girls practically ate themselves silly!

We rounded out the day with a camp-wide treasure hunt! The girls were all broken up into 27 teams, led by a Romrec-er, and bounced around from station to station collecting codes, solving anagrams, and answering questions to be the first to unlock one of three sets of locks on a treasure chest at flagpole. The entire camp won the prize (which were awesome Romaca baseball caps) once all the locks were opened and everyone made it back to flagpole.

While it was a great day, the girls sure missed all of you and I know next year will be twice as amazing with all of you here! The girls enjoyed every second of their phone calls over the weekend.

The rest of the week went by super fast, with our in-camp trip day on Wednesday! Since we couldn’t get the girls in lower camp out this year, we treated everyone to their favorite local treat, Topsy’s flavor burst ice cream, during Rec Swim. We have been able to enjoy Rec Swim almost everyday this week, so the change in weather was more than welcome!

I’m sure next week will be just as beautiful and twice as much fun!

Have an amazing week, Jess
