Debs, Week 4

Hello Deb Parents,

What a great week we have had at camp! We had some beautiful weather throughout the week. It allowed the girls to have a lot of Rec Swim time!

We began the week with a “Trash Bag to Fashion Show Catwalk”. The girls did an amazing job transforming trash bags into the cutest outfits. They are so creative, we may have some future designers on our hands!

Our virtual visiting day was a hit! The girls really enjoyed the extra long FaceTime calls with all of you. They also got to cheer and watch the Romrecers vs. the Advisory Staff in the annual visiting day softball game. We all enjoyed an amazing (typical) visiting day feast consisting of sushi, a delicious chicken dish, and assorted pastries and desserts. They missed you all like crazy, but the annual festivities did a lot to help keep them happy with a fun-filled day!

Another fun visiting day activity was an all camp treasure hunt. The girls were all split up into 27 groups and had to go around camp answering questions, collecting codes, and solving anagrams. They used these codes to open a few locks on a treasure chest up by the flagpole. The treasure at the end of the hunt this year was…Romaca baseball hats for everyone!

Although the girls could not have a trip day this year, it did not stop them from participating in many fun activities. They were able to have two hours in Creative Arts to work on our top secret Deb Carnival decorations. They also were able to show off their skills on the tennis courts. To top the day off they made the trip to Topsy’s for our favorite flavor burst ice cream!

The Debs had a great time on their overnight camping trip to October Mountain State Forest. The girls went on an hour-long hike followed by some yummy s’mores and popcorn. The girls had a great time sleeping in tents with their friends. And to the dismay of many of the campers… we did not see a bear! The girls did end their hiking trip with a traditional Romaca treat of Fribbles (milkshakes from Friendly’s). I’m surprised by their resilience – they weren’t even that tired once we got back to camp! They are rockstars!

Best, Cheyenne
