Clubhouse 7 Week 3

Hi Clubhouse Families,

I hope you’ve been having a great summer. We definitely have been here at Romaca!! I can’t believe we’re nearing the halfway mark; time truly does fly when you’re having fun.

This past week has been jam packed for Clubhouse 7. The girls started the week off with a social on Monday with Greylock. It was so sweet to see them both helping each other get ready, as well as watching them recap the night together afterwards. I’m sure you can imagine how insistently they’re already asking me when their next social is!!

On Thursday, we had our annual DJ Jeff event, hosted in our Rec Hall (as normal) after another set of negative COVID tests (!!). Every year the Clubhouse girls dress up as “nerds” for DJ Jeff to “scare off” the older Annex and Romrec-aged boys. Your daughters looked adorable in their “ugly” outfits and had such a blast dancing their hearts out without a single care as to how they looked or who they had to impress, which was so refreshing after the past year and a half.

As you know, this weekend, we have Virtual Visiting Day. While we’ll miss all of your presence on camp immensely, the girls are so excited to see you on FaceTime…and to receive your packages, of course. After receiving a rainy forecast for Sunday, we’ve decided to postpone our Visiting Day festivities to Monday, and instead, host our annual Trashion Show that day, where each girl is given a trash bag to make a runway-ready outfit out of. I’m so excited to see what clever styles the girls come up with!! On Monday morning, we’ll resume our Visiting Day schedule, where Clubhouse will watch the annual father/daughter Romrec softball game (this year against the Advisory Staff as sub-ins for Romrec’s dads). In the afternoon, they’ll be participating in an all camp treasure hunt, where they’ll receive a new piece of Romaca merch as the prize at the end. I’m excited to see what the gift is, and I know the girls are too!

Thank you all for being so flexible with not only Visiting Day, but this crazy summer, this year. Your girls are so lucky to be at camp, and to have parents who choose to send them here!!
