Annex Week 4

Hi families, What a week! On Saturday we watched the Debs and Subs production of Peter Pan which was a stellar performance. On Sunday, we had an all camp special activity of Trash to Catwalk. This is when the girls all create amazing outfits made out of garbage bags and tape and parade around camp. We had the finalists show off their magnificent designs in the rec hall in front of the entire camp. The energy was outrageous and we all had so much fun cheering and singing along. On Monday, we had an all camp movie followed by a beautiful campfire on the waterfront where Romrec introduced their song for 2021. The weather on finally permitted us to have our “visiting day” fun! We started the morning with our annual Romrec vs Advisory staff softball game. I was fortunate enough to have the girls available to dress me appropriately for the softball game!!! We all built up a great appetite which was perfect timing for the delicious Visiting Day spread of food; sushi, chicken, pasta bar, sandwiches and amazing cakes. In the later afternoon, we did an all camp Treasure Hunt. The girls ran around camp in teams trying to figure out codes in order to unlock the box for this year’s camp gift of Romaca vintage hats. We ended the day with our traditional Cliff Brodeur line dancing in the barn. Early Wednesday morning, we left for our trip to Boston. We had beautiful days exploring Newbury Street, Faneuil Hall, etc. and plenty of quality time spent together. I showed them where the Cheers bar was located and explained why it was famous. We went on a duck tour around Boston, more shopping at Quincy market and then dinner at the Painted Burro. On our last day we went on a whale watching tour and were lucky enough to see a few humpback mothers and calves. Most of the girls grabbed an acai bowl for lunch and then did some speed shopping before we hopped back on the bus to return to camp. All of the girls were so amazing, their bond is incredible and they represented Camp Romaca so well in Boston.
