Annex, Week 7
Dear Annex Families,
It is so hard to believe that we are now into the closing few days of camp. I guess it’s true what they say; time flies when you’re having fun! This summer seems to have all happened in the blink of an eye and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend the last 7 weeks with all of your beautifully unique, wildly intelligent and incredibly talented daughters. They truly are a spectacular bunch of young ladies!
This week has been super busy with lots of activities going on around camp. Olympics was a huge success and all of the girls had a blast taking part in all of the events. Our four lieutenants led their teams so brilliantly and it was so amazing to watch them all working together, cheering each other on and encouraging the younger campers. Denmark took the gold this olympic season and the girls erupted with celebration when this was announced, running to their friends on the red team to hug and congratulate them.
This week we also had Subsway. The theme this year was Netflix and it was so adorable. The girls had a blast down at the Waterfront sunning themselves, enjoying the food stands and plumitting head first down the slip n slide! It was a fantastic day and everyone had so much fun spending the day together as an entire camp. After Subsway, that evening, we had Secret Show. This year the show was Matilda!! The Senior B girls did a fabulous job and the show was brilliant! It was so funny and well written and all of the staff and younger campers were having a fantastic time watching them on stage.. Even if they were poking fun at us a little.
We also had our last Campfire this week. The girls all came together as a camp for the last time of the season to sing songs around the fire and represent their division. This week the older girls all wore their shirts that they got on their trips and presented their gifts to camp. The spirit and energy around the campfire was incredible and everyone was just so happy to be together, singing the songs we all love!
This week we also had Counselor Show, this is where the staff gets a chance to turn the jokes from Secret Show around and have a little fun with the campers. It is always very entertaining for the girls and they enjoyed this. This years theme was Mama Mia.
We have been very busy this week working on the finishing touches for Banquet. It is all coming together wonderfully and it has been so incredible to watch all of the girls creating decorations together. The talent that they each possess will never cease to amaze me and it has been so incredible watching them all work together so beautifully.
On the final night of camp we will have the slide show presentation and Wish Night. This gives the girls the opportunity to reflect on the amazing summer that they have had and make a wish for the year ahead until we are all reunited again in our summer home as Romrec 2019!!
I cannot express enough to you all how much I have enjoyed spending this summer with all of your amazing daughters. You should all be very proud of each and every one of them because they truly are extraordinary! Thank you for sharing them with me this summer. It has been INCREDIBLE!!!
