Annex, Week 2
Dear Annex Families,
Wow! Hard to believe another week has flown by already!
The girls have been busy little bees buzzing around with so much energy and spirit and it has been so amazing to watch them all getting so involved and taking part in so many different events and activities. On Sunday we went to watch the Sub Senior play. They performed “Finding Nemo the Musical” and it was so adorable! It was great to see all of the Annex girls cheering on the younger campers and supporting them! We had a very busy week, filled with soccer and cheer tournaments, summer heat and lots of waterfront time. They have enjoyed some late-wake-ups and lots of fun activities both on camp and off. The girls have been busy rehearsing for their play this weekend - practicing lines, perfecting dance moves and working on their french accents for Beauty and the Beast! The counselors and I are so excited to see them all take the stage in this Disney classic that we all grew up watching! It will surely be a special and emotional experience for all of us.
Our 4th of July events were in full swing Wednesday with our annual Paint Your Counselor event, National Anthems galore, a patriotic rap battle (a la Hamilton), and a giant game of tag-Fourth of July themed: with various stations where the girls could get silly and complete a number of challenges in order to gain a missing letter to their puzzle which would reveal where the American flag was hidden on camp. The day was a huge success and the girls all had a fantastic time, all decked out in their red, white, and blue! In the evening, we all traveled to Berkshire Bob’s for the annual 4th of July fireworks display which, as it always does, managed to supercede the previous year and top itself with more sparkle and excitement than ever before.
The girls are all having a wonderful time and are bonding together as a division so beautifully. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for these extraordinary young ladies!
