Romrec, Week 6

Hey Romrec families,

As always we’ve had a busy busy busy week!!…

Tis this the season…. OLYMPICS is here!!! I repeat OLYMPICS is here!!! All the girls are decked out in every item of spirit wear they own in blue, green, red and white! The Romrec captains and every single one of the girls are leading their teams with giant smiles on their faces and being role models to all. They worked into the night the past 2 days working on songs which we will get to hear on Friday night. Last night the teams performed skits about their countries which is always an anticipated event!

Lets re-wind to when you last heard from me…. Last Friday we had the final Target trip to which I’m sure the amount of food bought by the girls is definitely not required… lots of food parties this week! This was followed by Deb Carnival which was EVERYTHING Disney this year! The girls all took turns serving popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy to the younger kids and of course ending with a pie eating competition that was exactly pie… a counsellor concoction of…. pudding, whipped cream and SPRINKLES! I’m not sure any of it actually ended up in mouths but it was definitely thrown in other places, FOOD FIGHT!

We finally had shack and back this week… The sun was shining and the girls sung the whole way there and back, and if this day wasn’t already tiring enough… we also had Apache Relay…. the girls broke off into the Shawnee tribe dressed in green and the Kiawa tribe in white… the girls supported the camp the entire way around the relay before heading to the beach at the end to build a fire for rope burning! I have to say I’m impressed with Romrec’s rope burning skills, they burned the rope in 35 minutes. We were all united once the rope was burnt in Plunkett singing songs and celebrating the completion of the relay!

We have so much to look forward to in the next week and I can’t wait to fill you in on the remainder of Secret Show, Banquet, Counsellor Show, last camp fire, Subsway and Wish Night next week!

Speak soon.

Lots of love,

Jess
