Trainees and Floaters, Week 5

Hello Trainee and Floater Parents!

We are so happy to have the girls back at Romaca. Their excitement as they returned “home” to camp was priceless and they are so happy to be back together.

The girls have signed up for the activities that they would like to help instruct and the activities they want to participate in! They have been on top of their new responsibilities, including making it to flagpole each morning, with a little help, lol! :)

We have watched a few performances this summer as well. We took a trip to Greylock to watch Romrec/Seniors perform Bye Bye Birdie! We also watched the Debs perform Newsies as well. Quite a Broadway production here at Romaca. :)

Last night was Birthday Night. The Sr. A’s worked hard to prepare a birthday celebration for the camp. The theme this year was Beauty and the Beast. Later today we have Deb Carnival-the girls will love just playing around at all of the games together. Stay tuned until next week to know the theme! As tradition goes, the Trainees and Floaters run the haunted house at Deb Carnival and can’t wait to spook the camp, BOO! They usually love to wear creepy makeup and tell scary ghost stories to the kids-and the little ones just soak it all up-screaches and all!

We have been really busy organizing and coordinating Apache Relay for Monday afternoon. We have started to gather all the supplies needed to make this event run smoothly, Go Shawnee and Kiawa! They are loving these new roles and responsibilities as they test the waters of being a counselor. They even did their first “fake-out” of the summer and pretended to break out Olympics at lunch today. I’m sure they have so much more up their sleeves.

We are looking forward to loads of special events during these upcoming weeks!

Warmly,

Deb Deb
