Inters, Week 4

Hello Inter Parents!

This was a huge week for my girls.

Visiting day was such a blast. The Inters enjoyed jumping off the Wibit with mom and dad, horseback riding, lunch, and mostly, the bonding time with you all. We had SO much candy to share with each other, and most of it is already gone! There was a ton of love being spread around, and it genuinely warmed my heart seeing them all so happy. The day came to a close quickly and even if a few tears were shed, they quickly turned to smiles and giggles with a huge water balloon fight and rec swim. It was so cute how they all came to each other’s side to support the sad ones and scooped each other up for some fun to distract their friends.

This week we also played the super fun game of Counselor Hunt. This all-camp game was campers vs. counselors, and boy did it get competitive! It involved the counselors hiding throughout the whole camp, and the campers (along with their camp sisters) had to search for them. Each individual counselor was worth a certain amount of points. We had counselors hiding in bushes, up in trees, in the creek, and even in plain sight! This event was one of those you REALLY look forward to, and it surpassed all expectations-they raced around frantically to try to win the most points-it was so entertaining to watch!

Cliff Brodeur was another hit! There were flannel shirts left and right, cowboy hats, and I saw some cowboy boots too! We learned the Hoedown Throwdown, Cotton Eye Joe, and Promenade. The girls were yelling “Yee-Haw” all night! They looked so cute in their freckles and braids.

Finally, TRIP DAY! The day started at the Eric Carle Museum. Most of the Inters knew who he was by his famous book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We toured the gallery and got to know some of his other work, and even got to send him a postcard! Then they got to sit down and put their own creativity to use. There were collages and abstract drawings made of different colors (just like Eric Carle uses). I was astounded by their perceptions and how wild their imaginations ran! After the museum, we got some yummy ice-cream. It was a hot and sunny day, so this refresher was much needed. Our last stop was Northampton. The girls went for some shopping in different stores and came back with guess what? Yep, MORE CANDY! After a long day, we had a night swim to cool off. We ALL needed that one!

Inters Hike WOOHOO!! The girls trekked what they thought was Mount Everest, but really it was a 25 minute incline on a hill with absolutely no difficult trails. They enjoyed the panoramic view, took about a million and one polaroids, had some snacks, and then walked back downhill. They spent the afternoon at camp, and went back into Nature for the rest of the night. There were even s’mores involved! They loved rooming with their besties in tents and sharing midnight secrets.

Next week, we start play rehearsals!!! Their sass and acting skills will be put into overdrive!

XOXO,

Adri
