Sub Seniors Week 6

Sub Seniors Week 6

Hello Sub Senior Families,

The Subs have had amazing week at camp. We started the week out with a lovely visit from all the grandparents which the campers really enjoyed. After the special morning with the Grandparents we had an all camp movie in the rec hall to give the campers some time to recharge their batteries for the upcoming special events.

On Monday night the Subs went for a night swim down at the waterfront, the girls had the best time splashing around, jumping in together and having the whole lake to themselves. Tuesday was our first special day of the week in which we participated in Apache Relay. The camp was split up into two teams Shawnee and Kiawa. The teams raced all around camp doing challenges along the way starting from the youngest camper moving up through all the divisions ending with Romrec. We watched Romrec burn through a rope on the beach at the waterfront. It was such a magical moment when the rope burned and the relay was complete. After dinner we had an all camp counselor auction where the counselors were auctioned off and the highest bidding bunk won a prize, it was very enjoyable to watch all the campers bidding for the counselors.

After that all the camp was called to the tennis courts for the Olympic breakout, arguably one of the best breakouts ever, with fireworks and all! The countries were unveiled Chile, Hungary, France and Japan and the campers quickly made their way the gymnastics pavilion for the crowning ceremony of the captains. The camp was then split into the four countries to compete in different events for the next three days. The Subs had an amazing time taking part in all the activities and generating as many points for their respective countries.

During all of the madness the Subs also have an event down at the waterfront tomorrow where they make lunch for the entire camp, SUBSWAY! They have been working hard coming up with a theme and the different menu items to offer. They are very excited and cannot wait to put on a spectacular event.

Until next time,

Ellya
