Inters Week 6

Inters Week 6

Hello Inter Parents!

The Inters are pouring their hearts and souls into the last full week of camp. Everyone was glad to see their families on Grandparents’ visiting day, and kept up the energy in an all-out battle at Apache Relay! For the new Inters, they were amazed by the annual Romrec rope burning to culminate Apache Relay-and, of course, the returning campers couldn’t take their eyes off of Romrec either. It was a long battle with the rope and fire, but the camp cheered and sang for Kiawah and Shawnee the whole time. After a campfire on Monday night, the whole camp gathered at the Basketball courts for an Olympic Fake Out. We began Counselor Auction on Tuesday, only to be surprised halfway through by the real Olympics break-out! A fanfare of pyrotechnics, torches and colored lights heralded the beginning of the biggest camp event of the summer. Your girls cried and hugged during the emotional breakout and watched in awe as the Romacan Opening Ceremonies began. For the next three days, the Inters won countless points for Chile, Hungary, Japan, and France in dozens of competitions. After each country wowed the judges Friday night with their final singing contest, Hungary took home the gold! We had plenty of tired little bodies and drained little singers and athletes and they all fought hard…especially while dressing up in their spirit gear!

Even though everyone slept a little late Saturday morning in preparation for the busy days ahead, we are all soaking up every minute of the time we have left at Camp Romaca. Tomorrow is Breakfast in Bed and Subsway and Secret Show, and then, unfortunately, it is a sad and emotional race to the finish line :-(

Have a good weekend and take care,

love, Charis
