Romrec Week 4

Romrec Week 4

Hello Romrec Parents!!

It was a pleasure meeting everyone on Saturday evening and again on Visiting Day. The father/daughter softball game was a “hit” not only to watch but the girls had a great time beating their dads on our new playing field which we are rededicating to Kathy Barley on Sunday. The week was full of events and special activities. After all the parents departed we watched Clubhouse 7 perform Footloose. We enjoyed “Cutting Loose” and “Hearing It For the Boy” all decked out in our pink attire to show their spirit for the Clubhouse girls. They had socials with both Greylock and Winadu this past week. Romrec lead the show decked out in their country flannel and cowboy gear and enjoyed square dancing with Cliff Brodeur- swinging their partner round and kicking up their boot heels. Everyone showed off their singing voices and acting skills at rehearsals for their play, The Addams Family, which they performed this weekend with the Greylock Seniors. They were not only super great on stage-but they really had so much fun up there together. On trip day they had the whole camp to themselves. They had a lazy morning followed by a picnic lunch and rounds of skiing at the waterfront. They even had time to prank the OOB’s which ended in a water/shaving cream fight. The days have been filled with tournaments and activities. We played basketball at Camp Taconic, sailed in the Regatta and participated in a dance competition at Camp Lenox. We are looking forward to alumnae weekend when we get to participate in our first alumnae campfire singing our RR16 song. They are getting psyched for their 3-day hike next week and can’t wait for all the special activities soon to come. It’s hard to fathom how quickly the time is going by. I know the girls are loving every minute but I feel them sensing the time slipping through their fingers. We continue to soak up the sunshine and the laughter, in the meantime, and Romrec 16 is something to truly be proud of.

Until next week,

Lori
