Clubhouse 7 Week 4

Clubhouse 7 Week 4

Hello Clubhouse Parents!

It was wonderful to see everyone during Visiting Day! I hope you had an excellent day with your girls! I know that they loved seeing you and spending time with you. They were also so excited to perform Footloose for you!

Earlier this week, the girls trekked all over camp on a scavenger hunt and earned a special prize–a second super sloppy night! We had one earlier this summer and they LOVED the slip-n-slide, so it will be fun to do another one! We also had a square dance put on by Cliff Brodeur this week! The girls were so festive in their bandannas, blue jeans, and plaid shirts! They had a lot of fun getting ready and braiding each other’s hair, too!

To top off the week, we just returned to the Berkshires from our exciting 3 day trip to Newport, Rhode Island! We had a lot of fun right off the bat with a trip to the beach. While some girls loved laying out in the sun, others were splashing and jumping in the waves, and everyone had a great time. From there, we were able to unpack at the hotel before a trip to an amazing improv comedy show. Some of the girls got pulled up on stage to help out with some of the games, and the actors did a really funny (and accurate!) skit about what a day at Camp Romaca looks like based on questions they asked me and the girls!

The next day, we got to take a tour of the Breakers, the Vanderbilt mansion on the waterfront in Newport. It was so beautiful! The girls really loved the outdoor living room that overlooked the ocean. The view was fantastic and the ocean breeze felt so good! After that, we took a little break for some shopping before heading to the wharf for a sailboat ride through the harbor. The boat was really cool! Some of the girls even got a turn at the helm. We ended the day with a fun hibachi dinner and a night swim at the indoor/outdoor hotel pool!

On our last day, the girls voted for a trip to the mall, so we headed to Providence Place, a huge mall in the middle of Providence, Rhode Island. They had a blast going into all the stores and getting fun things for themselves and their camp sisters! We ended with a trip to the movies, then hit the road to return to camp.

The girls had a fantastic time and definitely made some great memories with their friends!

Best wishes, Becky
