Clubhouse 7 Week 5

Clubhouse Week 5

Hi Clubhouse 7 Parents!

It’s been another busy week at Camp Romaca for our Clubhouse ladies! We started the week off with a trip to Camp Greylock to see the Romrec girls perform The Addams Family. The show was great and the girls had a lot of fun! We also had a special Green and White Campfire this week, where instead of sporting our crazy pink spirit wear, all the girls wore the camp colors and learned the Romrec song for Summer 2016!

We got to take a trip out of camp on Tuesday to go see a Pittsfield Suns game at Wahconah Park. The girls were so excited to go to the game. Everyone had a lot of fun and they even got the DJ/announcer to play their favorite song, “Our House” which they promptly sang and danced to while standing on the bleachers. Plus, they got to get ice cream and other exciting ballpark snacks for the game! The Suns played a great game too, so the girls were really excited by the 11-0 score!

Clubhouse also had a really intense game of Capture the Flag throughout the woods on the far side of camp. Girls and counselors were divided into four teams that had to strategize and come up with ways to sneak through the woods into other zones to capture flags while defending their own. The girls got really into it, dressing in all black except for a bandanna or headband that showed their team color. Some played great defense, keeping their flags from being discovered and captured while others bravely snuck into other areas to go on the offensive. Lots of fun was had by all!

This week also featured two of the annual camp events: Birthday Night and Deb Carnival. Birthday night was an exciting event where we celebrated the different seasons and birthdays, even those who don’t normally celebrate a birthday at camp. The secret theme was revealed when Senior A’s burst out of the Rec Hall dressed as Willy Wonka and his Oompa Loompas! After they performed their skit and song, everyone got to see their cool decorations and eat the yummy food as the girls served it! A special Willy Wonka themed chocolate fondue topped off the tasty treats for the evening! The next day was Deb Carnival. The Debs revealed their secret theme, outer space, and put on a great event. Clubhouse had lots of fun going around to all the different booths! They got to dunk the OOBS in a dunk tank, enjoy snow cones and cotton candy, get their faces painted, and even get married at the Marriage Booth!

The week isn’t over yet! We are looking forward to seeing the Juniors and Inters put on their performance of Aladdin tonight, followed by Grandparents Visiting Day and the Apache Relay tomorrow! There is still so much to come and so much more fun to have this summer and we are all looking forward to the adventures ahead of us!

Have a great week!
