Sub Seniors Week 7
What a summer it has been! It’s hard to put it into words. The Subs have been the best division I could ask for. We’ve been on a roller-coaster and enjoyed every minute of it. They have really been full of energy and enthusiasm at every turn-even up to the end of summer. They worked together, they laughed their way through, they matured, they relished their time here together. On Sunday we finally had our special event! The Subs put on the penultimate event of the summer, Subsway. What a phenomenal day at waterfront with sandwiches and drinks all prepared by the campers themselves. They really know their way around a kitchen! Our theme was a Hawaiian Luau-they made everything themselves and proudly presented their plaque and their event to the whole camp after a summer of teamwork to build it all together. We also had lots of games and fun inflatables to keep the camp occupied for the whole day. You should be very proud of your wonderful children because I sure am.
In these past few days we enjoyed Annie- Secret show, Hannah Montana- Counselor Show, and Fairy Tales-Banquet. Each event told a great story about Romaca and all of the wonderful girls who call it home. Our hearts are heavy missing all of the girls right now-we know all too well why Romaca is such a special part of their lives because it is just as special to all of us.
They have truly made this summer awesome for me and for all the campers, and I hope that each and everyone of them has the best winter and comes back to their summer home- as i will be waiting for them. What more can I say?… such a great summer, such a wonderful bunch of kids, I am a lucky Group Head. I am very glad to have spent this summer with them and can’t wait til summer 2017. Until next time.
