Clubhouse 7 Week 7

Clubhouse 7 Week 7

Hi Clubhouse 2016 Parents,

It has been a truly amazing last week of camp and it was so hard to say goodbye to all the wonderful ladies in our division. The counselors and I have seen them grow throughout the summer as they took on the many responsibilities of the Senior B’s and it all paid off this week. We are so proud of all that they have accomplished. They worked so hard on Secret Show, which was based on the Broadway musical, Annie. They sang and danced their hearts out! Afterwards, they helped sing special songs dedicated to different people around camp. It was a very emotional night that really showed the impact they have had on the camp, and the impact the camp has had on all the Senior B’s. They also worked really hard helping Annex with Banquet this year! The theme was Happily Ever After, and our ladies worked into the night on the menus for the event. I loved walking in and seeing them hard at work with their flashlights and clear drawers, tracing the menus in the dark. It was so sweet to see them teaming up and getting everything done together too!

They got to see Counselor Show this week too, where the Clubhouse counselors serenaded them and told them how incredibly proud we all are of them and how much we love them. It was so special and was a great moment to recognize how close everyone has become and how important each and every person is within the division. At the same time, it brought up some really funny memories and jokes, especially about our “Lake Plunkett bathroom!”

Thursday night, after a busy day of packing, we ended camp on a sentimental note with an amazing slide show of pictures taken throughout the summer. It was so fun to see all the different activities and events the girls participated in throughout the summer and to see the huge smiles on their faces! Afterwards, everyone headed down to the waterfront for Wish Night. It was so incredible to see every single camper lighting their candles and letting them drift off into the lake as the summer came to a close. After, the girls stayed up really late–some even all night–holding on to the last moments with friends before the buses pulled away in the morning.

Friday morning dawned bright and early. It was a very emotional morning as everyone said their goodbyes and the buses pulled out of the parking lot. It seems like only yesterday, we were greeting the girls as they pulled into the parking lot as strangers to most of us, and even though we’ve only been together for 7 weeks, it broke our hearts to let them go and break up the family we have all become.

I feel so lucky to have been able to share this summer with your girls. They are truly amazing young ladies who have made a wonderful impact on myself, the Clubhouse counselors, and everyone at Camp Romaca. We miss them so much already! Thank you for an amazing summer! I hope you all have a safe and happy year and hope to see you all for Annex 2017!

Best wishes,

Becky McIver
